About FeeCalc

FeeCalc is a small, independent set of calculators that answers two questions sellers and freelancers ask constantly: "What will this platform take from my payment?" and "What do I charge so the amount I need actually reaches me?"

Where the numbers come from

Every rate used here is a publicly announced figure from the provider's own fee or pricing page — PayPal's merchant fees, Stripe's pricing page, Etsy's fees policy, eBay's seller fees, Fiverr's and Upwork's service-fee terms, Square's pricing and Venmo's fee schedule. The rates currently loaded were checked in Oct 2026, and every calculator repeats the date. Platforms change their pricing, so treat results as accurate estimates for planning, and confirm on the provider's official fee page before you sign a contract or quote a client.

How the reverse mode is verified

The algebra is straightforward — charge = (target + flat fee) ÷ (1 − percentage rate) — but platforms round fees to the nearest cent, so the algebraic answer can land a cent off. FeeCalc therefore runs every reverse result back through the forward calculation and nudges the charge by cents until the payout equals your target exactly. When you see a reverse result, it has already passed that check.

What is not covered

The calculators cover the platform fee for US-dollar transactions at standard rates. They do not include sales tax or VAT, currency-conversion markups, chargeback fees, optional add-ons (ads, promoted listings, subscription plans), or volume-negotiated pricing. Marketplace fees (Fiverr, Upwork, Etsy, eBay) also buy distribution and trust, not just payment processing — the comparison page explains why they should not be judged on percentage alone.

Independence

FeeCalc is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to PayPal, Stripe, Etsy, eBay, Fiverr, Upwork, Block (Square) or Venmo. Names are used only to identify whose fee is being calculated. FeeCalc is part of a small network of free tools built by Jimmy | ORBITFRAME.
